The Poughkeepsie High School was temporarily put in a lockout at 8:08 a.m. on Tuesday morning, when district officials called police headquarters to report they had been made aware of a threat one student made to another.
The lockout lasted approximately two hours, though the investigation into the alleged threat was deemed “not credible” by investigators.
Poughkeepsie City Police Det. Lt. Matthew Clark said that officers responded to the high school and a 14-year-old suspect was located outside of the school. The teenager was subsequently taken into custody and the school was able to lift the lockout.
Clark said that the teenager will be charged through Family Court with threatening the other student online. He has since been released into the custody of his mother.
